Guest presence: all days
Alvaro Martinez, a native of Cantabria: land of the best anchovies in the world (or so they say), received his degree in Fine Arts from the University of Salamanca in 2004. Since then, he has worked mainly as a storyboard artist for advertisements and movies (THE IMPOSSIBLE, ZIPY Y ZAPE EL CLUB DE LA CANICA, among others). He also works as a commercial illustrator, for educational, advertising, or publishing purposes. After a hardcore boot camp, this native of Torrelavega started working in comics. His first professional gig for the American market was working on 12 pages for Valiant Entertainment’s HARBINGER #10, inked by the great Stefano Gaudiano.
Alvaro subsequently moved to Marvel, where he worked on the IRON MAN ANNUAL #1; ULTIMATE COMICS X-MEN, and CATACLISM: ULTIMATE X-MEN.
Subsequently he landed at DC, and became an exclusive artist for the company. He worked on a couple of issues in the AQUAMAN series, CONVERGENCE: BOOSTER, GRAYSON, ROBIN WAR or TEEN TITANS. He then moved to the Batman corner of the DC Universe, where he worked on GRAYSON, BATMAN ETERNAL, and its continuation: BATMAN & ROBIN ETERNAL. This work subsequently led to the DC REBIRTH: BATMAN DETECTIVE COMICS, where Alvaro worked alongside Raül Fernández.
Alvaro is currently working with writer James Tynion IV and Raül on the critically acclaimed JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK book for DC Comics.
