LUKˇAŠ PAVLÁSEK (comedian, actor and writer; Czechia)

He made his debut as a comedian in 2005 in the show Na stojáka and since then he has been one of the founders and leading representatives of Czech standup comedy. He currently has two full-length standup specials Kdo nepláče není Čech and Planeta slepic.
He has appeared as a comedian on many television shows. As an actor, viewers can see him in the series Na vodě or in the lead role in the fairy tale Zakleté pírko.

As a writer he has written ten books for children and adults. He has also illustrated his own poems for children. For his book of short stories for adults, Soutěž jedlíků, he received the Miroslav Švandrlík Award for the best humorous book of 2019. For con-goers, he would recommend the three volumes of IT's diaries about a nerdy group. The most popular books among children's readers are Neuvěřitelně šílené příběhy (2020) and Bláznivá škola (2022).
Since 2021, he has been writing a regular column for the newspaper Deník magazine every Saturday.

In 2015, he was one of the finalists in the entertaining celebrity dance competition Stardance.

In 2022, he fulfilled a childhood dream and became one of the writers of stories for the magazine Čtyřlístek.

Since 2017, he has been organizing and moderating a monthly talk show about poetry called Večer jedna báseň in the Anti.quariat of Dejvice Theatre.
He is currently rehearsing a role in his original play Já, diktátor, directed by Vladimir Moravek, which will open on April 19, 2023 at the Broadway Theatre.

He went to a con with a bunch of friends a few times in the 1990s and it left a strong impression on him. He especially remembers the phrase: Palermo falls asleep...
