Franco Nero is an Italian actor whose film career has spanned more than six decades. He briefly studied economics and trade at a local university before deciding to pursue acting and enrolling at the prestigious Piccolo Teatro di Milano.

His breakthrough role came as the titular character in the Spaghetti Western DJANGO (1966), which turned him into a cinematic icon and launched an international career. Since then, Nero has appeared in over 200 films and television productions across various genres, ranging from action blockbusters to historical dramas.

During the 1960s and 1970s, he became a key figure in popular Italian genre films, particularly Spaghetti Westerns, where he left a lasting legacy.

Some of his most notable films include CAMELOT, the war-action thriller FORCE 10 FROM NAVARONE, the comedic western CIPOLLA COLT, the cult ninja classic ENTER THE NINJA, the action-packed DIE HARD 2, the romantic drama LETTERS TO JULIET, Quentin Tarantino’s DJANGO UNCHAINED, the high-octane sequel JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 2, and the horror-thriller THE POPE’S EXORCIST.

With his charisma, piercing gaze, and unmistakable voice, Franco Nero remains one of the most distinctive and enduring figures in both European and global cinema.
